With
the decreasing resources of conventional fuel supply and the increasing
pollution, people are moving towards the green and eco-friendly vehicles. They
have become aware that pollution caused by the automobiles is going to
affect all including themselves. Also, it has become well known that the eco-friendly vehicles
are not only beneficial to the environment, but also to the pocket too . The
market is providing ample options to those who are thinking about the
environment but also don’t want to suppress their desires of beautiful
automobiles. The trend of buying
eco-friendly vehicles has increased very much in the last 1-2 years. Many new
companies along with the existing ones have come up with their new and more
efficient vehicle which are claiming to not to be harmful to the environment.
But, one should keep certain points in mind while going to purchase an
eco-friendly vehicle. Here are some tips which should be considered while
buying an eco-friendly vehicle-
1. Assess your needs.
One must properly asses the need for which the vehicle is
needed. One may need to travel along distance while it may be possible that one
needs to carry heavier loads. Various models and vehicles are available in the
market based on the requirement. Also, the family needs can differ as per the
different families.
2. Check out the maintenance
cost.
This is one of the most important point to be kept in the
mind while opting for an eco-friendly vehicle. One may find a vehicle in a
lesser price but it may lead to an excessive expense on its maintenance. So,
one must get properly ensured about the life of various parts and their
maintenance cost.
3. Don’t forget about the
battery.
While almost all the eco-friendly vehicles are coming with
the batteries as their power source, it is very important
to check the configurations and life cycles of the battery. Also, the charging
and discharging time of the battery must not be neglected.
4. Consider your climate and
location.
It is important to consider the climate and location as
different engines act differently in different conditions. Engines which are
very active can lead to over-heating in hot climates while they can have
ignition-related problems in cold conditions. Also, the other heating or
cooling elements like A.C. or anti-freeze systems can have effects due to
climate and location.
5. Select smartly among the
BEVs and HEVs
If you are planning to opt for electric vehicles, then you
are having two options in front of you- Battery Electric Vehicles(BEVs) and
Hybrid Electric Vehicles(HEVs). While BEVs are completely dependent on the
battery for their power, HEVs come up with a backup of either petrol or diesel
engine. If you are having sufficient infrastructure for the BEVs, then the BEVs
are undoubtedly the best options for you but if not, then you must opt for HEVs
which need not to be charged frequently.
6. Consider the supplementary
parts of your vehicle too.
One must also consider the supplementary elements of the
vehicle too like the suspensions, braking systems, etc. An efficient suspension
and braking system can be very helpful in reducing the fuel consumption over
the uneven road surfaces and traffic areas.
While
you may consider many other aspects, but these are some of the points which you
cannot afford to forget while buying an eco-friendly vehicle. So guys, Happy
Buying and Happy Saving.
